Ferrie Bodde released by Swansea City
FERRIE Bodde’s Swansea City career looks to be at an end.
The injury-plagued Dutch midfielder is not on the retained list provided by the club to the Premier League.

Ferrie Bodde
Bodde’s contract runs out at the end of the month, with Swansea unlikely to offer him a new deal.
And given the devastating injuries he has suffered over the past four years, there have to be doubts as to whether he will play at the top level again.

“I hope that the club can offer him some sort of role, perhaps involvement in player scouting in the Netherlands and getting him to come over to work with the school kids occasionally.
That he has worked so hard for so long to try and get back to fitness tells everything about the guys attitude and love of the game, if he can impart a small amount of that to some of our future stars it will do them a great benefit.”

What has Joey Barton got to do with this?”

“Sorry to see this happen but life must go on. Thanks for everything, Ferrie. If it wasn't for this injury, I'd expect to see you tearing up many of the teams in the Premier League in the black and white of Swansea City. A true Jack legend!”

“Ferrie was probably one of the best attacking midfielders I've ever seen play for Swansea City. His ability to win tackles and shoot accurately from distance was worth any entrance fee for a game. Such a sad day for a talented young man. I wish him well in his future.”

“Sorry for Ferrie, he was a breath of fresh air when he joined us, worked hard to ty to get back, his last injury was caused when he lost the ball on the halfway line , chased back and won the ball on the goal line, but stretched as he did so, but that indicated his his attitude to the game...all the best Ferrie”

“Sad, hope he's got insurance or something, or can get on in life.
being 29 and having to reinvent yourself from a footy player must be hard.
Footy players should setup a fund among themselves for people like this, it can happen to anyone at any time.
Once bad tackle is all it takes and with idiots like Joey Barton, its a real possibility.”

“Gutted for Ferrie who has endured a nightmare few years. Good luck for all that you do in the future.”
