“Paul was a loving husband and a dearly loved father, son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle and son-in-law.

“He was extremely hard working and very highly respected by his work colleagues and friends.

“As a gentle, kind and thoughtful person, he was always willing to help others.  He was a family man and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.

“The family have been left in a state of shock and are trying to come to terms with the loss of Paul.

“We would like to thank friends, neighbours, colleagues and everyone who has offered their support.  It is very much appreciated and has been a great source of comfort.

“The support we have been given from South Wales Police and their family liaison team has been outstanding in helping us cope, and we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to them.

“The family now ask that their privacy be respected as they try to come to terms with the loss of Paul.”
