Family debts gran's suicide
A GRANDMOTHER who was worried about mounting debts hanged herself at home an inquest heard.
Julia George, aged 47, from Caradog Street, Taibach, was found hanged by her partner of five years, David Morris, on October 4 last year. Mr Morris, aged 51, has also died in tragic circumstances since his partner's death, Neath Coroner's Court heard.
The inquest was told that Miss George had been receiving letters from a debt collection agency prior to her death. In a statement read out, the late Mr Morris said: "The debt was not her's but her ex-husband's'."
He added that the letters were troubling her but that he had told her not to worry, and that he would take out a loan to help if needs be.
Coroner Philip Rogers recorded a verdict of suicide. The inquest of Mr Morris, who died on April 14 this year, is expected to take place within the next couple of months.

“i am deeply distressed that you have written the things that you have about my sister in law. Who do you think you are brandishing all this on the front page, you didn't report it when it happened so why know?”

“I agree that this sad story should not have been plastered on the front page. I feel very sad for the family.”

“Yet again the Evening Post sinks to loudly attacking the dead or bereaved in order to conjure salacious headlines to exploit grief.
This is not journalism, facts and report - this is sleazy hack-work designed to feed on pain.
It would be a joke if their treatment of real pain and situations weren't so parasitic and depressing.
Shame on you.”

“After all these negative comments I wonder if the Evening Post editor or news editors will have the decency to come on here and explain to us members of the public - THEIR CUSTOMERS - why they chose to report this story on the front page. They are always calling on the authorities to be open about things. So there's the challenge.”

“My heart well and truly goes out to family and friends who have lost two wonderfull and caring people through such a tragedy. A community is in mourning and still trying to come to terms with the loss of two amazing people in such a short space of time. For whats meant to be a family/community newspaper I am amazed at your total disregard of the people your comments directly affect. I for one will no longer be buying your newspaper.”
