Facelift scheme begins
WORK has started on a multi-million pound scheme to give Llanelli town centre a facelift.
The 12-week project forms part of the £4.3million Adref town centre redevelopment, which will see new canopies on both sides of Stepney Street and Vaughan Street.
There will be a rolling programme to install the glass and LED-illuminated canopies by the end of April.
And buildings in Stepney Street have also received a lick of pastel-shaded paint, with new paving in the central square nearing completion.

Leader of Carmarthenshire Council Kevin Madge said: "We promised Llanelli would look different and we are delivering.
"Townspeople and traders have been patient while the works are on-going.
"There is recognition that we will soon again see Llanelli back as a town to be justly proud of."
The Adref project is a £10-million spend, including the refurbishment of Coleshill, grants for businesses, and improving cycle paths.
