FATHER AND DAUGHTER ON GOWER CALL
A FATHER and daughter RNLI team was also involved in a rescue off the Gower coast over the weekend.
On Saturday evening, the Horton and Port Eynon lifeboat was launched after dark, following a report that walkers were cut off by the tide at the local beauty spot of Three Cliffs.
They discovered two walkers near the stepping stones at Three Cliffs, and waited until the tide began to ebb, before leading the walkers to safety.
The helmsman was Matthew Fifield and the other members of the volunteer lifeboat crew were Louise Sullivan and her father Steven Sullivan.
Lawrie Grove, lifeboat operations manager of the Horton and Port Eynon lifeboat station (left) said: "Whenever walking along or near the coastline, it is important that people check the times of the tide.
"If the tide will be coming in during your walk you should always consider what effect that will have and if you will be stranded by the incoming tide."
