Exhibition star is roller-skating rat
A ROLLER-SKATING rat called Reggie is the star of the latest exhibition at Swansea's Mission Gallery.
Reggie's Roller Palace is the work of artist Olivia Brown, with theatrical canines and an entrepreneurial rat taking centre stage.
The eye-catching installation, A Ruthin Craft Centre exhibition, presents the attention-seeking stars in a series of expertly made tableaux, being watched by excitable fans performing at a roller derby.
Canny Reggie the rat rakes it in on the back of spin-off products and prominent advertising posters as the dogs take their comic pratfalls, so the artist presents her take on the modern cult of fleeting TV celebrity and alongside the mass marketing that surrounds it.
