Europa League: Swansea City fans look forward to Valencia clash
WATCH out Europe — the Jack Army are on their way.
The Swans will be taking in Russia, Switzerland and Spain following the draw for the Europa League group stage.
The club will be travelling 2,450 miles to the city of Krasnodar, St Gallen in Switzerland and taking the short journey to the Spanish coast to take one of the biggest clubs in the competition, Valencia.
Fans are already busy picking flights and hotels for the games but it is the game against Valencia which has captured supporters imaginations.
Phil Sumbler, of the Swans Supporters Trust, said: “I am ecstatic with Valencia. As tough as they are going to be we want to take on some of the best teams and Valencia certainly match that.
“I promised myself I would do one group game away at that is likely to be Spain now.
“The other two teams in the group make it look like we can get through to the next stage as well.
“The key thing is you want to be in with a chance of getting out of the group stage and we have got that.
“I think it is brilliant. We have drawn one of Spain’s top teams.”
This season’s European adventure, the first in more than 20 years, has already seen the Jack Army take in Malmo in Sweden and Ploiesti in Romania.
