Environment Agency warns of more heavy rain in South Wales after weekend of floods
COMMUNITIES across South West Wales recovering from flooding at the weekend have been warned to expect further heavy rain today.
Environment Agency Wales assisted firefighters from the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service who received hundreds of calls to flooding in Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire over the weekend.

A spokesman for the agency said: "The unsettled weather is likely to continue into the early part of next week.
"Our staff are out in communities clearing blockages and making sure our defences and structures are ready for the further rain.

Motorists in Swansea were among those affected by torrential rain on Friday night.
Drivers were seen to be reversing down Mumbles Road after attempting to access Brynmill Lane but being unable to pass through the levels of surface water.

“There were several inches of water on the roads around the Liberty Stadium and the bottom of Cwm Level Road on the weekend. I saw a Nissan Micra stranded with water up to its door.”
