Enjoy a romantic night at the movies
STAFF at Theatr Elli are getting in the mood for love with their first ever Valentine's movie evening.
The cinema is getting set to show two classic films to set the tone of the day, and couples young and old are invited to celebrate the occasion.
Programming and promotions assistant Kirsty Jones said: "This is the first time we have celebrated Valentine's Day through this means and, dependent on its success, we aim to continue over in Y Ffwrnes in 2013 along with a special celebration for Dydd Santes Dwynwen."
As part of the themed event, the cinema will screen the Oscar winning classic from 1982, An Officer and a Gentleman, starring a young Richard Gere.
The film follows a trainee Naval Aviation officer with a bad attitude, who must decide what to do with his life when he meets a girl.
Ms Jones added: "If that doesn't take your fancy why not come and see something more modern as we will also be screening the 2010 rom-com Valentine's Day, featuring many Hollywood stars including Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Foxx and Bradley Cooper."
The film follows nearly two dozen people in a Love Actually-style montage as they experience love and its losses in many forms over the course of the holiday.
"With a romantic movie, chocolates and champagne this is certainly a delightful night out that won't break the bank," Ms Jones said.
The Valentine's evening starts at 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 14, and couples are invited to go along and make the most of the entertainment.
