LEON Britton celebrated a personal milestone when Swansea City sensationally beat Arsenal on Saturday.

Michael Laudrup's side recorded a victory that ranks among the club's greatest results as they humbled the Gunners at the Emirates.

And for Britton, the triumph was extra special.

The midfielder was with the Arsenal youth set-up before becoming the most expensive ever 16-year-old when he moved to West Ham for £400,000 in 1998.

"I spent seven years there so it is great to come back and win," said Britton.

"I think everyone knows the class that Arsenal have and I loved my time there.

Changed

"Things have obviously changed a bit since I was at the club, at Highbury, but it's a great day for me personally.

"It's nice because I've got that association with the club.

"It's just nice to come to Arsenal and get a win.

"They are a fantastic club."

Britton reckoned Swansea were good value for their win, secured after Michu struck twice in the dying minutes of the match.

Victory lifted Swansea to seventh in the Premier League as they secured back-to-back wins for the first time since the opening two games of the season.

Deserved

Laudrup's side are unbeaten in six and their only defeat in the last ten matches was a narrow 1-0 reverse to Premier League champions Manchester City.

"It was a great performance from the whole team and I think you could say we deserved it really," said Britton.

"On the balance of play, Arsenal had a lot of possession, but in terms of chances I think we probably edged it.

"Michu's so good in those situations as we've already seen this season, especially the second one because he had so long.

"It can be hard in those situations but he tucked them both away with great composure."
