Elderly people deserve more
MY mother, who is 93 and frail, has recently required medical attention to treat and dress a wound.
She has had to make the journey to the doctor's surgery twice a week for a month through winter as home visits have been refused. It seems pressure on the NHS has made it impossible to give our old people the service they deserve. What a sad state of affairs.

“The "Fault" here lies with her G.P.practice in refusing home visits not the N.H.S. who provide the Doctor with funds for such visits.Should complain to the Practice Manager and if no joy local health board.
Such behaviour towards our elderly is beyond excuse.Get Well Soon!”

“Sadly the world in which we live in has a price put on everything, my father is in his 90's and I can understand how J Holland feels. Unfortunately when people look back in the years to come, they will look back at our NHS with envy. Until some time in the 2020's when we finally get our spending under control, things are only going to get worse.”

“I agree wholeheartedly with this comment - it is an appalling indictment on the NHS today that our elderly folk, who would have suffered untold horrors during WW2, should be treated in this way in 2013. Surely, her GP practice employs district nurses?? Or have they ditched this layer of care as well??? Best wishes to your mum, J Holland.”
