JERMAINE Easter could be in line to play against Swansea City tomorrow — just 48 hours after training with the club.

The on-loan striker was last night recalled by parent club MK Dons because Crystal Palace want to buy him.

And if a deal can be done in time, he could feature for the visitors at the Liberty this weekend.

"Crystal Palace want to take him, they want to pay money for him. I've spoken to (manager) Karl Robinson from MK Dons, to Jermaine's agent and to Jermaine himself," said Brendan Rodgers.

"I think he would have loved to have stayed here, but whether or not we've got the finances to do anything at this moment is another matter.

"It could be that he plays against us tomorrow, we'll have to see."

Easter could become Dougie Freedman's first signing after the former Palace striker was appointed as George Burley's full-time successor on Wednesday.

Freedman takes charge of a Palace side in the Championship drop zone — and insists there is no time to waste as they try to get out of it.

"My priorities are three points on tomorrow, points on the board are the most crucial thing," he said.

"I want a winning philosophy, there are different ways to play a match but at the very beginning I want to make the players' ability shine through because there is some fantastic ability in the squad.

"Then it's about adding some strength in depth and the right players."

Palace left it late to avoid relegation last season and have continued to struggle this term.

After going into administration 12 months ago, for which they were docked ten points, they drew 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of last season to preserve their Championship status and relegate the Owls.

A new consortium made up of fans took charge of the club last summer and Burley was swiftly appointed manager, taking over from Paul Hart, who had been in charge of last season's survival fight.

Having won just seven of his 25 games in charge, Burley was axed on New Year's Day after a grim 3-0 defeat to local rivals Millwall.
