What it is about: It is a social enterprise in Murton, Gower, specialising in sustainability education and natural building. On offer is a range of groundbreaking programmes for "disaffected" youngsters and training programmes for adults in traditional and natural building methods.

Why it was a winner: The judges agreed that the project set very high environmental standards, offered tremendous experiences for disadvantaged young people and provided innovative training opportunities.

Since winning: The project has continued to develop its Gower site with a number of interesting new buildings and features and also pioneered a new "wilderness therapy" programme.

The staff have also worked with schools and community organisations to design and build beautiful outdoor spaces using natural materials.

Project director Mark McKenna said: "The main thing about the award is the recognition that what we are doing is valued. A lot of people respect our work more.

"We work with disadvantaged groups and schools across South Wales. We have done loads more stuff since winning the award. We have grown. We have got more staff now. Getting the award has really benefited us."
