CALL TO EXTEND OUTDOOR MARKET
CHAIRMAN of Carmarthen Chamber of Trade and Commerce Matt Davies wants to see the town's outdoor market in Red Street extended into Chapel Street.
He claims shifting some traders into the bottom end of the street which adjoins Red Street will entice shoppers to visit the King Street side of the town.
Mr Davies said: "I think that if the market traders were to shift one leg of the stalls into Church Street it could potentially lead people to the bottom of Jacksons Lane and then up into King Street.
"It would be good for the traders at the traditional end of town. It would provide a natural flow from the stalls to the businesses at the square off Church Street and Jacksons Lane.
