Drunk Swansea grandfather asked for sex on church steps
A DRUNKEN grandfather asked a stranger to have sex with him on the steps of St Mary's Church in Swansea city centre, a court heard.
Michael Alldrick, of Tegid Road, Mayhill, made the alcohol-fuelled proposition at 2.45pm on February 5, while being attended by both paramedics and police.
City magistrates heard the 42-year-old had been out celebrating the birth of his granddaughter, before embarking on his "despicable" rant.
Julie Sullivan, prosecuting, said: "PC Nicholls attended outside St Mary's Church. The ambulance service required assistance with a drunken male who was known to the officer from previous dealings.
"He was lying on the steps at the side of the church."
Alldrick, who was described as being "clearly drunk", swore at the officer on his approach and said: "Where's that guy? Get out of my house."
He then began "flailing his arms around", before being told to calm down by the officer.
But when a woman walked past, Alldrick swore at her and shouted at her to have sex with him.
He then told the officer: "You cannot arrest me in my own house."
Miss Sullivan said Alldrick had three previous public order convictions.
He pleaded guilty to the fresh offence of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Grayson Tanner, defending, said: "Alldrick tells me that he was under the influence of alcohol. He'd been out celebrating the birth of his granddaughter.
"He fully accepts his guilt."
Court chairwoman Ann Evans, sentencing, said: "How do you think your children would feel if they'd had your granddaughter in the grounds of St Mary's Church?
"I'd like you to sit here and reflect just how despicable your behaviour was."
Alldrick, who admitted his family would be disgusted by his actions, was fined £90 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
