Drug users warned on side effects
HEALTH bosses have issued a warning over the potential side effects of mephedrone.
Users have been known to suffer from paranoia, anxiety, insomnia, hypertension, sweating or chills, palpitations, muscle twitching, abnormal eye movement, dilated pupils, tightened jaw muscles, teeth grinding, impaired short-term memory and light- headedness.
Complications can also arise through the method of taking the substance — nosebleeds and pain and swelling in the nose and throat following snorting, and serious abscesses following injection.
