Don't get caught high and (not) dry
HIGH tides that will flood Laugharne's foreshore area and damage cars parked there start tonight.
The peak of 8.2m is expected at shortly after 6.10pm, with 8.1m at 6.36am tomorrow.
The evening tides will go up to 8.5m at 7.36pm on Friday, falling to 8.1m at 8.49pm on Sunday. As this picture shows, cars left in the area will flood and could be written off.
During the high tides of August and July, the Journal reported how cars had been caught in flood waters.
We have teamed up with Laugharne Township Community Council, which has supplied area-specific tide timetables, to warn people of the dangers.
"Laugharne is a great place to visit and we don't want people to be afraid to call here," said council clerk Chris Delaney. "It's just a question of that half an hour to an hour when the tide reaches a peak."
