AT Shimano Loomis Fishery, Felindre, a change in the weather had made it feel like you were in a freezer.
As for the fishing, some days have been good and other days have been very slow.
Fish have been just cruising following the fly and turning off at the last minute.
As the winds changed, fish were back on the feed and some good fish were taken just below the surface.
Most of the fish have been taken on lures with a good range of different colours. Montana and mini-cat have been the two top flies with the ace of spades, viva and black nomad also doing well.
But there is always one angler who will fish something different and enjoy a red letter day.
Richie Miles fished a diawl bach and landed two very good fish — a rainbow of 5lb and a cracking brown of 11lb.
The top bag last week fell to Liverpool angler Ryan Johnson, taking four fish for 29lb 6oz with a best of 9lb 3oz and 9lb 6oz. All fish were taken on viva.
Joe Armes landed three fish for 16lb 4oz and Chris Hanks had three for 15lb.
Roy Packer fished mini-cat to land three for 16lb 8oz, while Bill Bradley fished with his granddaughter Megan Bradley to take four fish for 24lb 8oz, all taken on mini-cat.
Ian Hope fished Montana to take four fish for 26lb 11oz, and Lynn Jones landed four fish for 24lb 10oz, all taken on ace of spades.
Tony Gibbs landed three good fish for 18lb 9oz with a best of 8lb 10oz. All were taken on Montana. Mike Harrison fished black nomad to land three fish for 15lb 12oz, while Robert Toll also fished black nomad to take three fish for 16lb 7oz.
