Court chairwoman Glenys Lloyd-Jones ordered that the dog, called Susie, be put down following the latest attack on April 2.
Julie Sullivan, prosecuting, said the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons was a five-year-old boy.
"The injured person's mother is the person who made the statement of complaint," she said.
"At 7pm she was out walking with her five-year-old son. She had her own small dog who was on a lead. She said that her young son ran on ahead of her — momentarily out of her sight."
The court heard that seconds later the boy ran back towards her "crying hysterically".
"There was a black Labrador-type dog chasing her son," said Miss Sullivan.
"The young boy told his mother that the dog had bitten him on his hand.
"The dog was growling and baring its teeth at her and also towards her small dog. She was extremely concerned because it looked like it might attack again."
Wall, who lives nearby the scene of the attack in Broadmead, Killay, was alerted by the noise of the incident.
"The mother said the gentleman called his dog back towards him and she shouted that he'd bitten her son," said Miss Sullivan.
"She said he didn't seem particularly bothered by this."
The woman later told police that the dog had been allowed to roam the area in the past.
Wall denied the accusation stating that Susie had only been out that day because she'd escaped through a hole in his 6ft fence.
The boy, who was given antibiotics following treatment at Singleton Hospital had injuries including bruising and broken skin to two of his fingers.
Following the incident the boy's mother pointed out Susie to a community support officer.
In police interview Wall said Susie was a 14-year-old family dog and belonged to his ex-wife.
The court heard that Wall was cautioned by officers in 2006 after Susie bit the hand of four-year-old boy.
Rhodri Chudley, defending, said: "He says he was apologetic and remorseful to the child's mother. He does have a reprimand for another matter in 2006.
"The defendant says that was a dissimilar situation where young children came onto his property and were throwing stones, provoking and aggravating the dog."
Wall was fined £100 and must pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Magistrates ordered the destruction of the dog. Wall has 21 days to appeal.
