SWANSEA'S Russell T Davies has said he is unlikely to be involved with Doctor Who's 50th anniversary.

The former Olchfa schoolboy is credited with regenerating the sci-fi series to worldwide success.

He also served as head writer and producer between 2005 and 2010.

But he said he was not likely to contribute a new episode for 2013's 50th anniversary season.

"I think I'd be like the ghost at the feast," he said. "What would I do — turn up and make the tea?"

Davies also says there will be no Doctor Who references in his new series, Wizards v Aliens, which starts on Monday.
