IT may have caused disruption for workers and parents — but at least the children enjoyed themselves.

Neath Port Talbot was one of many parts of Wales which was hit by the icy blast this past week.

On Friday every school in the county was closed and some bus services were disrupted as temperatures dipped well below freezing.

And even sporting fixtures were unable to avoid the big-freeze as not one weekend match took place.

Neath Port Talbot Council used five vans to deliver community meals to the vulnerable and elderly in the county.

Refuse collections were also cancelled as workers were deployed to gritting duties to keep traffic moving.

But the winter weather did provide some serious sledging fun for the kids.
