Discover all of park's attractions at a click
IT is the smart new way to discover a Port Talbot attraction just by the click of a button.
A brand new interactive free smartphone app is now available to help visitors discover even more whilst exploring Margam Park.
Fans of Doctor Who will be able to have a photo with David Tennant using the app's fun photo layering activity and will be able to find the many TV film locations dotted around the 800 acre park.
The park has been used as a location for Doctor Who, Merlin, Torchwood and Da Vinci's Demons, as well as the Compare The Meerkat adverts.
The app will also give visitors information on the gothic castle, 18th century Orangery, ornamental gardens, Margam Abbey, two deer parks, two ponds, farm animals and children's playgrounds.
Council leader Ali Thomas said: "Margam Country Park is an important visitor attraction for the region and Neath Port Talbot Council has recognised this by securing funding to bring the park into the 21st century.
"Introducing the Discover Margam app will enhance the park's appeal and will encourage visitors to come time and time again."
Discover Margam will also feature interactive maps so that visitors will know where they are in the park and where they are in relation to activities and points of interest.
Throughout the app, virtual points and badges can be won, with the ultimate prize to become an honorary Margam Country Park Ranger.
The range of challenges are designed to encourage children and adults to explore and learn about the park whilst having fun competing for the top points on the app's leader board.
Funding for the Discover Margam app was secured from the European Regional Development Fund sourced through Visit Wales, with match funding from Neath Port Talbot Council and the Friends of Margam Park.
The app is available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
