Denmark international Thomas Kahlenberg keen on Swansea City
SWANSEA City have seen the door to sign Thomas Kahlenberg fly open.
The Danish international appeared close to joining French outfit St Etienne, only for the deal to fall through.

The 29-year-old still has a year to run on the contract he signed with Wolfsburg after completing a £3 million move from Auxerre in 2009. But he ended last season on loan at another French side, Evian, and it appears he will be allowed to leave the Bundesliga club for a nominal fee.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has admitted Kahlenberg is one of a number of potential targets he has discussed with Michael Laudrup. And sources close to the former Auxerre man suggested he would be interested in a move to South Wales, though the Evening Post understands Swansea have not yet made contact with the player.

The attacking midfielder would be a straight replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson, who could now be heading for Spurs and not following Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool as expected.
Reports in Germany claim the Hoffenheim player, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the Liberty, has agreed an £8 million switch to the managerless North London club.
Kahlenberg was part of the Denmark squad that failed to escape their group in Euro 2012, but did not feature in any of his side's three matches.
He began his senior career at Brondby where he spent three years working under Laudrup.
The pair developed a good relationship, one it is believed Kahlenberg would be keen to revive, should he be offered a chance at Swansea.
After leaving Brondby in 2005, Kahlenberg spent four years at Auxerre, before a disappointing move to Wolfsburg where injury hampered his progress.
Meanwhile, Swansea and Wigan are being linked with Middlesbrough full-back Tony McMahon.

“Not sure why the Ramsey comment got so many negative responses. £6m would be about £3m too much, but the lad has still got a lot of talent.”

“Doesn't have the quality for me. If Blackburn didn't want him I don't see why we should.”

“This is going to be a big mistake, he has done nothing in the last few years, nothing since leaving BRONBEY , Has been acused of not trying by one manager, given a trial by Blackburn Rovers John jenson , and was not offered a contract, has scored only 3 goals in about 6 years, we have better here allready”

“Some people seem to have hit the panic button because we haven't signed anyone. We have players we haven't approached saying they would come here so maybe we can have fewer over reactions. Keep calm and carry on, which is just what our board and manager are doing.
Maybe not signing Gylfi will turn out to be another silver lining. Martinez left and people moaned, the Swans stepped up, Sousa left and the Swans stepped it up again. Now we have another new manager and possibly we have Gylfi's replacement in waiting.
I've not seen Kahlenberg play but if as so often in the past new players fit into our system I'm fairly sure we can get the best out of him, if not him, whoever else we sign”
