Delivery driver rescued from ford in Bishopston
A DELIVERY driver needed rescuing after his vehicle became trapped in a ford in torrential conditions which lashed South West Wales.
The Parcelforce driver became stuck in a stretch of water referred to locally as the Gritton, which separates Old Kittle Road and Church Lane, Bishopston.

A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said crews from Swansea West, plus swift water rescue teams from Swansea Central and Carmarthen were sent to the scene shortly after midday.
The vehicle was towed from the muddy, four-foot torrent with the driver unharmed.

“The main road is fifty yards away. There are at least 7 emergency workers in this one photo and bringing a team from Carmarthen would cost a fortune, all for this idiots hope of saving a couple of minutes.
All the houses along this road are accessible from either side of the ford, what was this driver thinking about? Parcelforce should be charged the cost of all the emergency services sent to this incident, it was totally preventable.”
