Davidson show will go ahead
LLANELLI'S new theatre has confirmed that Jim Davidson's show will go ahead — with hundreds of tickets sold.
The controversial comedian had been booked to appear at Y Ffwrnes on Valentine's Day, but when he was arrested as part of Operation Yewtree — the Metropolitan Police's inquiry into allegations against Jimmy Savile — his tour was thrown into disarray.
The 59-year-old, who sold out Theatr Elli last year, was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences earlier this month.
Police said the allegations were unrelated to those made against Savile, and Davidson was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Now Carmarthenshire Council, which runs the theatre, has confirmed the gig will go ahead as planned.
A spokesman said: "Jim Davidson's long-planned appearance at the new theatre Ffwrnes venue is going ahead and sales are well advanced.
"Hundreds of tickets have been sold, with further sales likely to customers who had been on a reserve list. No refunds have been requested and there has not been any negative comment directed to theatre staff." He said more than half of the 504 tickets had been sold, but added the position would be reviewed if Davidson was charged by police.
