Danger driver's house crash left couple homeless
A MAN who ploughed a car into a house and left a Neath Valley couple living out of a suitcase has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.
Appearing at Swansea Crown Court, Michael Craig O' Sullivan, also admitted driving with excess alcohol and having no insurance following the incident at Company Street in Resolven on July 29.
O'Sullivan's action meant residents Michael and Julie Miller had to move into temporary accommodation while their home was rebuilt.
Mrs Miller said she was pleased O'Sullivan, of St Hellier Drive, Port Talbot, had admitted the offences but said their ordeal was still not over as they have been unable to return home.
"We are still living in the flat in Kings Road, Swansea, and although it is warm and comfortable, it is not home," she said.
Mrs Miller said they couldn't even go inside their house to collect personal items unless the contractors were there due to insurance reasons.
"We will be glad to be home although it will be a push to do it before Christmas," she told the Post.
Mr and Mrs Miller were woken in the early hours of Wednesday, July 29, by what they thought was a gas explosion.
The couple were stunned to discover the cause was in fact a Toyota Celica which had ploughed into the pine end wall of the kitchen in their Resolven home and ended up almost entirely inside it.

Mrs Miller said, as part of the work to make the house habitable again, the whole of the house's back extension had been taken down and a new kitchen put in.
"The bathroom has been replaced and they are now just putting back our living room and bedroom and trying to get the house back to rights," she said.
At the Crown Court hearing 24-year-old O'Sullivan admitted driving with 76 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, 35 being the legal limit.
Following his guilty pleas, pre-sentence reports were ordered which are due to be completed by December 14.
