Dai Lloyd is standing as Plaid candidate in Assembly elections
A SWANSEA GP has been chosen by Plaid Cymru to battle out the Swansea West constituency in the Assembly elections.
Dai Lloyd has practised as a doctor in the city and previously served as an AM for the party in the South Wales West region between 1999 and 2011.
The 56-year-old was the party's Shadow Health Minister and Shadow Finance Minister and spokesman on social justice, local government and regeneration.
The dad-of-three, who lives in Tycoch, was previously the county councillor for Cockett ward in Swansea.
Dr Lloyd said: "I am delighted to have this opportunity of taking Plaid Cymru's message to the people of Swansea.
"My mission is to defend the NHS and stand up for Wales."
Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood said that she looked forward to Dr Lloyd's return to the Assembly.
