DANCERS IN DREAM TRIP
IT was an experience of a lifetime that 14 young dancers certainly won't forget in a hurry.
Members of Port Talbot group Notorious and Notorious Juniors have just returned from a dream trip to Las Vegas.
And to top it off they even managed to make a name for themselves at the biggest hip hop competition in the world — Hip Hop International.
Choreographer Terry Michael said Notorious, which competed in the Varsity tournament, came in at 11th and Notorious Juniors came 20th in their category.
"It was incredible," he said. "Notorious reached the semi-finals and came 11th out of 49 and they were 100th of a point away from the top 10. There were 43 countries in total. The top 23 went into the semi-finals so we were over the moon. They were really fantastic. If we go back next year we would like to be in the top 10."
Mr Michael said the youngsters, who appeared on Sky1's Got To Dance and some were part of Britain's Got Talent's Nu Sxool, worked very hard across the pond to get noticed.
"The standard was really high," he said. "It was our first major competition. The rules from the UK are different to America so it was quite complex and we had to adapt. But they had a ball. They were training every day and they only had one day off."
Mr Michael also thanked the school's sponsors.
