THE draw for round two of the J. Emrys Morgan Cup has thrown up some intriguing ties, with a number of Costcutter League clubs facing long journeys into deepest Powys.

After disposing of fancied Talgarth Town in the first round, St Dogmaels are on their travels to the village of Betws near Montgomery, while New Quay were also out of luck when drawn away against Machynlleth, who are in mid-table in Cambrian Tyres League division one.

The only club to successfully defend the trophy, Maesglas, were in luck when given a home tie against Trawsgoed of Cambrian Tyres division two.

Rhosgoch Rangers of the Mid Wales League South will be on a revenge mission when they visit Tregaron Turfs, who defeated them in the 2007 final.

Parc Pantyfedwen in Pontrhydfendigaid will be no place for the faint-hearted when Bont of Cambrian Tyres Division One host neighbours Dewi Stars of the Costcutter League.

After brushing aside Saron in the previous round, Lampeter Town will be fancied to make further progress when Cambrian Tyres division two club Talybont visit North Road.

Ffostrasol, who lifted the trophy back in 1975, are at home against 1980 winners Builth Wells, who finished runners-up four years later.

Aberaeron, who were given a bye in round one and who captured the trophy in 2003, face a long journey to take on Berriew, who were runners-up to Maesglas in 1988.

In two all-Costcutter League ties, Aberporth take on Cardigan Town at Parcllyn, while 2006 runners-up Crannog host bottom of the pile Llandysul at the Urdd Centre.
