AN elderly couple were left bewildered by mysterious orange lights in the night sky above West Wales.

They believe the hovering lights — spotted in the distance over trees from their home in Llandissilo, near Narbeth — could be a UFO.

Ninety-year-old Henry Thomas was going to bed at around 11pm on Saturday, September 12, when he saw the strange phenomenon through a window. He said: "I looked out and saw a light was coming from the sky.

"It was a large thing, all lit up and fairly low."

He said it looked like a "cruise ship" lit up with a line of orange lights. The object appeared to be hovering to the south of their house, in the direction of Narbeth.

Mr Thomas quickly called his wife, Muriel Thomas, aged 84, who had already gone to bed.

She said: "I was half asleep but when I looked, I saw a light. I saw it going away. It looked yellow.

"It was a clear night and there was no one else around."

Mr Thomas added: "We didn't imagine it and we enjoy looking at the stars.

"It was too big to be a helicopter and as it was hovering, I knew it wasn't a plane.

"It was a UFO, no question about it."

The couple now want to see if anyone else saw the strange lights that night.

"I don't go making up stories," Mr Thomas said.

The couple remain baffled by their strange experience.

“I'm very disheartened to see people resorting to personal insults.

Oh, and as for the long words - why not look them up while you're online Geoff?”

“A friend told me that he saw a diamond shaped reddish object in the sky at 11.15pm on 23/9/09
It was as big as a lorry but moved with no sound. It was extremely fast - moving like an asteroid then stopping still straight away. Hovering about 200 feet above the ground.
My friend is tells me that he was scared\freaked out and excited. I have known him for 24 years and i believe that he has seen something quite extroidinary. I believe it was a UFO.”

“Geoff, that would make sense if, like i already stated, this light was going as slow as a plane appears to across the sky but it wasn't. Don't think you understand how fast this light was traveling across the sky, it was way to quick for it to be a plane.”

    “Adams post explains a lot
due to the sun setting in the west, and, any body looking up in sky at around these times.
then you could be confused to see an aeroplane reflecting the dimming sun's rays!!!”

“I am more or less convinced I saw exactly the same object in the sky just earlier on that evening when i was on my way back from Neath with my partner.
She spotted it in the sky first and when I stopped our car I caught a glimpse of this bright orange oval shaped light in the sky before it suddenly disappeared. It must have been about 9pm.
The strangest thing is I saw exactly the same light in the sky last Saturday night at approx. 8pm as well, whilst i was working.
I was in the manselton area at the time and just happened to look up in the sky to see the same bright onrange oval shaped light moving extremely quickly across the sky. It was going way to quick to be a plane or helicopter, then all of a sudden it just disappeared. There was not a cloud in the sky at the time.
Strange I know, and if i was on my own i know no-one would believe me but my colleague also saw exactly the same thing as i saw.”

“I saw something in the sky a few weeks ago - it was not a plane or helicopter, nor was it a chinese lantern, balloon or fireworks.

I honestly don't know what it was but it gave off an orangey yellowish light and the speed with which it finally moved was incredible.

Again I must say I don't know what the object was - but I do know that it was something I had never witnessed before.”
