Countdown is on for secondary applications
WHERE your son or daughter goes to school can be a worry for any parent.
And the final countdown is on for hundreds of Swansea parents who have yet to get online to apply for a secondary school place for their child.
Parents of pupils in the final year (Year 6) of primary school need to go online by November 28 to apply for a place for their child in secondary school.
William Evans, Swansea Council's cabinet member for learning and skills, said: "We know the transfer from primary to secondary school education can be anxious for parents and we aim to make it as easy as possible to submit bids for a place on time.

"We had a very positive response to the introduction of the online application system last year and I am sure parents found it easier than they first thought it would be."
Mr Evans said that if parents had not got access to the web or needed support to make an application online they could go to their school, local library or the city centre contact centre where help would be available.
Earlier this year more than 2,400 letters went out to families across Swansea with a unique identification number (UID) for their child to help make the process easier, although parents are also able to apply for a school place without a UID.
Around 75 per cent of parents have already applied through the online system.
The remaining families are being reminded of the deadline.
