A DULAIS Valley Community Council chairman has slammed dog owners for not picking up their pet mess.

Dog fouling has become a problem at Seven Sisters' recreation ground, even though dogs are not allowed in.

"There is a sign up at the gates saying no dogs allowed," said Cledwyn Thomas, who is the chairman of the Seven Sisters Community Council.

"But the dog fouling is terrible.

"Children are going in there to play.

"Our clerk is going to have a word with the dog wardens.

"If we catch them they will be prosecuted."

“Seven Sisters used to have thriving mines, a handsome railway station and an avenue of little shops. Now that they've all gone, I suppose it's only to be expected that these are replaced by strident officiousness and bureaucracy by self appointed guardians.”

Brilliant journalism, but why should the dog wardens be prosecuted if they are not up to the expected standard? Bit harsh I would say.”
