Cops set to quiz Swansea Tesco throat slash man
POLICE are arranging to interview the man who slashed his own throat in a Swansea superstore a week ago today.
The 28-year-old reportedly went berserk in the Tesco Extra in Fforestfach last Tuesday night before cutting his throat with a knife he had taken from the kitchenware department.
It has been confirmed police used a Taser to prevent the man, who is from the Swansea area, causing himself any further harm.
He was taken to Morriston Hospital where his condition is being described as stable, although he is said to be on the mend.
A police spokesman said: "We are now making arrangements to speak to him."
The Post has since confirmed police will carry out an internal investigation into the incident, which will be supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
This is because officers were present at the scene when the man injured himself.
