Coogan takes Partridge to Hollywood
Steve Coogan is apparently hoping to sign up Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson for his Alan Partridge movie.
The British comedian - who has been spending a lot of time in Hollywood and appeared with the Frat Pack stars in films including Night At The Museum - is working on taking his comedy creation to the big screen and wants to give it a US twist, reports the Daily Express.
The plot will reportedly involve local radio DJ Alan trying to make it in Hollywood himself, and a source said: "Steve has become close fiends with Ben and Owen and they are both big Partridge fans - the word is they're both to be involved in the film."
The insider went on: "Steve knows he'll need to pull out all the stops to make Partridge a hit in the cinemas."
Steve wrote the film with Knowing Me, Knowing You co-star Patrick Marber. It has been in the pipeline for some time and was apparently postponed in 2005 due to reported problems with script.
