NEW Ospreys signing Conor McInerney acknowledges the hard graft in front of him as he looks to follow in the footsteps of the Ospreys' other import from Ireland.

Tommy Bowe has been a huge success after making his way to the region from Ulster last summer.

The 25-year-old scored nine tries in 22 appearances last term, played in three positions across the Ospreys' backline and proved a hit with the region's players, coaches and supporters.

McInerney, a member of Ireland's Grand Slam-winning side at under-20 level two years ago, is still developing as a player but is ready to do what it takes to become another shining emerald for the Ospreys.

''Everyone in Ireland seems to think positively about the Ospreys,'' he said.

''They have seen how Tommy Bowe's career has kicked on since he came here and they think the region are a great team to be part of.
