Gwyr centre Dafydd Moscrop scored two tries in the first ten minutes, one of which he converted himself, but Gowerton roared back with the back row of captain Will Griffiths, Ewan Brown and Callum Batcup all prominent and they were in front by half-time.
A fine run by Griffiths in the 14th minute allowed centre Sam Knight the space to cross and then nine minutes later good work by centre Kieran Charles set fly-half Tom Ham up for a try.
Charles added both conversions and at half-time Gowerton were 14-12 in front.
Early in the second half the hosts were back in front when wing Llyr Gealy crossed and Moscrop converted. But the visitors were not to be denied and they were level when good work by wing Nicholas Williams allowed Knight to grab his second try.
But Gwyr finished the stronger, scoring two more tries, one of which was converted by fly-half Darian Burt, which gave the hosts a deserved victory.
