Collect waste every week
WHY is it absolutely necessary for a collection of black bags every fortnight? In the interests of hygiene, storing rubbish in any flimsy bag is totally inappropriate and attracts all sorts of vermin.
The council has plastic bins for grit. Why not plastic bins to be utilised in the interest of hygiene? How can anyone justify combining rubbish bags and analysing what goes where? Rubbish is rubbish and needs to be collected each week to stop bacteria and infestation.

“maxmin.its the smell that attracts vermin.so mask the smell by wrapping in silver foil or spraying the contents of the black bag with something like disintfection or some other strong smelling substance”

“maxmin
Ever since Swansea introduced recycling of food waste, the contents of the black bag has been so low that a collection once a month would be fine with me.
Meat and fish wrappers go into the black bag but, there is no problem with hygiene and when the bag is put out for collection, on the night before, there is no damage done by vermin and roaming animals.
All that's really needed is a bit of thought.”

“Benny food wrappers attract vermin especially those used to wrap such things as meat. Now if you put those wrappers in the green bin you will receive a warning for doing so.”

“somebody needs to tell this person that they should'nt be putting anything that attracts vermin into a black bag, that's what the green bin supplied by the council is for.Or is this person trying to stir up a very very very old debate”

“Food waste is collected weekly and Swansea Council provide households with green plastic bins that have sealable lids so that vermin cannot access the contents.”
