Coastguards rescue woman in water near the Severn Bridge
COASTGUARDS were called after a woman appeared to jump off the second Severn Crossing.
A number of teams were alerted to the scene at 11.40am, including Chepstow, Sharpness, Portishead and the lifeboat from the Southern Area Rescue Association.

The coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-Solent was also called out.
A coastguard spokesman said: "We have had an unfortunate incident.

"We were informed a person had appeared to jump from the second Severn Crossing.
"The Southern Area Rescue Lifeboat recovered the person from the water.
"They had to carry out CPR on the woman and managed to get her ashore to the Beachley Slipway by the old Severn Bridge.
"The casualty was then transferred to the helicopter and flown to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol."
