MORE than 50 trophies were presented at Carmarthen Golf Club's recent presentation evening, and among the multiple winners was Matthew Moseley, the club's junior Welsh international and course record holder, who won the Travellers Cup and the MacGarvie Cup.

In a change of format, a competition was held earlier in the day for the Treacey Cup, presented by the hotel of that name in Enniscorthy, Ireland.

The competition was a team event with each section in the club represented, and the presentations started with the Treacey Cup to Stewart Evans, captain of the Tigers B team.

Among the other trophy recipients were Carwyn Jones, who won the Cotton Cup and in partnership with Steffan Lindquist the Ashley-Jones Cup, and Eirian Evans, who won both the Centenary Trophy and Coracle Cup.

Dylan Richards's double consisted of the Lynn James Cup and Eric Thomas Cup, with Steven Rees taking two trophies in the Super 6 category with the Terry James Cup and the Jeff Harries Eclectic Trophy. In the club knockouts he won the TS Davies with Adrian Thomas.

Simon Davies became club champion when he claimed the DR Evans Cup and Chairman's Bowl.

Ann Gilbert starred in the mixed events when she won the Rutherford Cup with Alun Rees, and the Maridunum Vase with Chris Reynolds.

Not to be outdone, lady captain Sheila Reed-Smith secured the DC Morgan Cup playing with Carwyn Jones. In the club knockouts she partnered club captain Alan Williams to win the Olgarve Cup.

Paul Davies had a successful season in winning the Tretower Cup, the Mond Cup in the knockouts, and the Tigers A Order of Merit.

Perhaps his proudest moment was when he led the Tigers A to become champions of the Dyfed League after a break of more than 20 years.

Other notable achievements were by David Lindquist in becoming seniors' champion of the Dyfed Golfing Union and Steffan Jenkins winning the Mid and Long Handicap title of the Union.

Moseley was recognised for his course record and Vicki Thomas for her outstanding career achievements.
