A PREFERRED candidate has been selected to replace the outgoing chairman of the UK Committee on Climate Change.

Former Secretary of State for the Environment, Lord Deben, will replace Lord Turner.

The committee is an independent body set up under the 2008 Climate Change Act to advise the Government on emissions targets and to report on emissions reductions.

Lord Deben was, among many roles, chairman of the Marine Stewardship Council for seven years.

“Lord Deben - a founder-member of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Thorium Energy.

No other energy technology can achieve our carbon targets more economically, safely and cleanly, than thorium fuelled Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors (LFTRs).

    Way to go Lord Deben.

Google: "benefits of lftrs" to get behind this technology!”
