City newcomers are welcomed by council
THOUSANDS of newcomers to Swansea are learning all about the city centre for the very first time.
Swansea Council staff have visited both Swansea University and Swansea Metropolitan University to hand out city centre guides to students at the start of the new academic year.
The guide was produced by the Council's city centre management team and Swansea Bid (Business Improvement District).
The guide is broken down into a series of sections that focus on aspects of the city centre like shops, nightlife and other entertainment.

It's all part of Swansea Council's City Centre Action Plan that's looking to give city centre traders a helping hand during tough economic times.
Nick Bradley, Swansea Council's cabinet member for regeneration, said: "Students make a vital contribution to the local economy in the Swansea Bay area and we need to be doing all we can to encourage them into the city centre where they can discover a fantastic range of shops and other services."
