City backs racism fight
SWANSEA is signing up to a national campaign to help stamp out racism.
Show Racism the Red Card is a charity that uses footballers — including Swans and Wales defender Neil Taylor and Manchester United star Ryan Giggs — as role models to educate and inspire children.
Mitch Theaker, Swansea Council's cabinet member for Opportunities for Children and Young People, said footballers would be visiting schools to talk to pupils, and that the council would also be working with the Ethnic Youth Support team to tackle Islamaphobia and hate speech.
He said: "Swansea has a proud tradition of being a welcoming and tolerant place."

“Swansea has always been very welcoming to incomers. Only today we read that over 13% of all babies born in the city are to mothers who themselves where born abroad. This is great news and shows Swansea is well on the way to become an ethnic melting pot just like London”
