Choir hits high note on way to final
PUPILS from secondary schools across Carmarthenshire have sung their way to success in the semi-finals of one of the most prestigious choral competitions in Wales.
Despite only forming three months ago, the Carmarthenshire Secondary Schools Choir has progressed in S4C's Côr Cymru 2013.

They will now be competing for a place in the final next month.
The choir is run by the county council's music service.

Members are female pupils from all secondary schools in the county, under the baton of peripatetic music teacher Islwyn Evans.
Service co-ordinator for Carmarthenshire Gareth Kirby said he was delighted with their success.
He said: "This is the first time that the county music service has entered the competition and we have progressed to the semi-finals — we are very proud of the pupils and the staff involved.
"The Côr Cymru competition is one of the most prestigious choral events in Wales. This choir has only been in existence for the last three months and this is a reflection of the excellent vocal talent that we have here in Carmarthenshire."
The next round will take place in Aberystwyth in February and will be screened on S4C shortly after.
