Choir to collide with the cosmos
PERHAPS it's because Welsh is the language spoken in heaven.
Or maybe it's down to the proud Welshman who heads the £5 billion project.

Whatever the explanation, scientists working to unlock the mysteries of life are to be given a celestial soundtrack — courtesy of singers from the Land of Song.
Morriston Orpheus Choir fly to Geneva this weekend to perform a concert on Saturday for charity Eclat, which works with physically and mentally handicapped people.
But the next day, they will visit the 27km atom-smasher, or Large Hadron Collider (LHC), on the Swiss-French border — just weeks after the international project was officially unveiled to the world.
Accompanying them will be choir vice-president and First Minister Rhodri Morgan.
And the historic performance is to be recorded and broadcast across the world later this year.
The out-of-this-world opportunity follows an invitation by Aberdare-born physicist Dr Lyn Evans.
Swansea University graduate Dr Evans heads the project at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (Cern), which seeks to create the conditions seconds after creation of the universe.
But despite living in Switzerland for almost four decades, he has never forgotten his roots — and jumped at the chance to invite Morriston Orpheus Choir to the LHC after learning of their performance nearby.
Dr Evans said: "When I heard the Morriston Orpheus Choir was coming to Geneva, I thought it would be excellent if choristers could come and visit our exciting project.
"It is the most sophisticated scientific instrument of our time, and I am really keen to promote the wider benefits of its work to everyone, but especially the First Minister of Wales and other fellow countrymen."
The historic performance will be recorded to accompany Dr Evans when he gives a multi-national address explaining the project to an audience in more than 50 nations across the world.
The choir warmed up for their historic weekend at the National Waterfront Museum on Thursday evening.
Rhodri Morgan said: "Dr Lyn Evans is one of the world's most brilliant scientists. Likewise, the Morriston Orpheus Choir has built an international reputation as one of our leading Welsh choirs.
"It promises to be a superb weekend in Geneva celebrating the pinnacle of scientific achievement and Welsh choral excellence."
Choir musical director Joy Amman Davies added: "It is a privilege and an honour to have been invited. It is the first time a male voice choir has visited. We are thrilled to have been asked."
