Chip the sheepdog rescued after falling down 80ft crevice in Snowdonia
A SHEEPDOG called Chip has been pulled alive from an 80ft deep mountain crevice in Snowdonia.
Members of Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team carried out the rescue at Clogwyn Mawr.
They dropped ropes as one member descended into the narrow gap to reach Chip, who had been lost by a farmer on Sunday morning while rounding up sheep.
Six team members joined in the search for the collie.
As the volunteers approached a steep crag the farmer heard whining within the mountain.
A rescuer, using torchlight, got within a few feet of the dog before attaching a long pole with a clip at the end to Chip.
The pair of them were both then hauled to safety after more than two hours.
The film you see here was recorded by rescuers’ helmet cameras.
