YOUNG talent will dazzle the crowds at Swansea's Grand Theatre this evening, with another installment of The Best Is Yet To Come lined up.

From 7pm singers, dancers, actors and comics aged 4 to 18 will give it their all and get an early taste of performing on a big stage.

The popular talent show raising cash for the newly-opened Maggie's Cancer Centre at Swansea's Singleton Hospital.

Organiser and general fairy godmother of the proceedings, Alex Frith MBE, says she never tires of the sparkle of the shows, even after 20 years of them.

"I was doing this long before Simon Cowell. The whole point is to give youngsters from the ages of 4 to 18 the chance to perform."

She says seeing children find their feet as performers is such a pleasure.

"I used to be a judge of junior talent competitions, and although they were great for those who won prizes they were heartbreaking for the children who did not.

"The main thing with the Best Is Yet To Come is they are all winners."

To date, the Best Is Yet To Come and its sister event Bumbles of Mumbles, have raised more than £280,000 for cancer, Alzheimer's, and children's charities, as well as for the Air Ambulance and the Mumbles Lifeboat.
