Children get maximum enjoyment
MORE than 40 schools took part in the Swansea Schools FA Trophy at PitchSide in Cwmdu.
Around 320 children have represented their schools in several non-competitive festivals with the focus purely on "maximum participation, maximum enjoyment".
-

Ben Ford, Pontlliw Primary, who co-ordinated the festival said: "It was really great to see the children enjoying themselves so much, when the aim of winning was simply replaced by the aim of participation and enjoyment."
The Trophy Festivals are aimed at providing children who do not regularly play outside of school or belong to representative sides, centres of development or centre of a excellence, an opportunity to represent their school at football.

Both boys and girls of all abilities have had an opportunity to play in their school kit — many of which for the first time.
Rob Appleby, of Casllwchwr primary, said: "It was interesting telling the regular school players that although there was a football festival, it wasn't for them. Then, when I told the players who were in the squad about the festival; their faces said it all."
The Trophy Festival is in its first year and is part of the redesign of the Primary Schools Football structure.
The Swansea Schools would like to say a huge thank you to Dean Hughes of PitchSide for all his help and time.
