Children put best feet forwards
A LLANELLI school has joined forces with thousands of children from across the world to celebrate International Walk to School Month.
Housebuilder Barratt has been encouraging pupils across South Wales to reap the benefits of walking to school by holding safety assemblies and donating hi-visibility tabards and wristbands. One of the schools involved is Bryn Primary School in Llanelli.
Head teacher Martin Morgan said: "We believe walking to school is important and try to encourage as many of our pupils as possible to walk to school in a safe and sensible fashion.
"It is great to see a developer support such a valuable initiative and we really appreciate the donation from Barratt."
Sales director for Barratt, Richard Lawson, said: "By offering pupils a helping hand and donating hi-visibility tabards and wristbands to a number of schools, the pupils have been encouraged to walk to school and can stay safe as winter approaches and the dark nights draw in."
