THIS is not just recycling — it's Marks and Spencer recycling.

That's the message from staff at Llanelli's Parc Trostre store, who have been inviting customers to drop in any old Christmas cards to be sent off for recycling.

The company is recycling the cards, which can often not be put in normal household recycling, and planting trees in a drive to protect the planet.

Womenswear section manager Janet Samuel hailed an amazing response from customers.

"The boxes have been emptied four or five times a day," she said.

"We've been doing it for a couple of years now so people are asking for them when they come in."

The Christmas card boxes will be available until the end of this month.
