Charity bike challenge
PENDINE is hosting its fifth annual cycling challenge in aid of charity early next month.
The Daffodil Classic/St David's Day Cyclo Sportif will take place on Sunday, March 4, raising funds for the Canolfan Plant Sir Gâr children's centre.
Over the years numbers of participants in the challenging cycle event have increased from the initial 28 in 2008 to more than 130 in 2011.
Organiser Andy Edwards said: "The emphasis of the 43-mile ride is on the charity challenge rather than racing."
This year's Sportif will follow the same challenging route as last year's event, a hilly course starting at Gilbert's Café, on Pendine beach front.
The riders then head on the marshalled route towards St Clears and then on to Trelech, before heading back through St Clears to Pendine.
